More than just a sailing First Aid course

This isn't just a course for sailors.

Our RYA First Aid Course covers essential basic first aid skills for everyday life, work, schools and outdoor activities, as well as the additional challenges of providing first aid when you're afloat.

It's ideal if you need first aid training for:

  • Teachers and school staff
  •  School trips and educational visits
  • Workplace and general first aid awareness
  • Sailing and boating
  • Powerboating
  • Outdoor activities and trips
  • Sailing, powerboat and dinghy instructors
  • Professional skippers and crew
  • Offshore racers

So whether you're responsible for students on a school trip, working in the workplace, heading offshore for the weekend or simply want the confidence to deal with an emergency, this course gives you practical skills that could make a real difference.

Learn the skills. Build the confidence. Be ready.

When an emergency happens, you don't have time to look up what to do.

You need to know.

Our one-day course takes essential first aid skills and puts them into real-world situations, including the additional challenges of dealing with an emergency on a boat or away from immediate medical assistance.

You'll cover essential First Aid including:

  • CPR and resuscitation
  • AED – automated external defibrillator
  • Common injuries and medical emergencies
  • Drowning and water-related incidents
  • Cold-water shock and hypothermia
  • Seasickness and dehydration
  • Recovery position
  • Obtaining medical advice by VHF
  • Helicopter rescue
  • First Aid equipment and Category C First Aid Kits

⛵ Plus specialist boating First Aid

Unlike a standard classroom First Aid course, we'll also look at what changes when you're on a boat, offshore or away from immediate professional medical help.

You'll learn about:

  • Recovery position in the confined space of a boat
  • CPR following drowning
  • Cold-water shock and hypothermia
  • Medical assistance by VHF
  • AED use in a maritime environment

HANDS-ON. PRACTICAL. REALISTIC.

We keep our courses deliberately small, operating at just 5 students to one instructor.

Every student gets their own manikin throughout the day – NO SHARING.

You'll have plenty of opportunity to practise, ask questions and build genuine confidence rather than simply watching someone demonstrate a technique.

WHY WAIT UNTIL YOU NEED IT?

You don't learn First Aid because you expect an emergency.

You learn it because one day you might be the person who needs to act.

Whether it's at work, on a school trip, at home, outdoors or miles offshore, having the confidence to respond can make all the difference.

DON'T JUST HOPE YOU'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO.

GET TRAINED. GET CONFIDENT. BE READY.
